Power door lock fix
Hello. New to the forum. Only front driver and passenger-side power door locks have gone out on my 2000 (rear doors still OK). Do you recommend going straight to the dealer for this type of fix or an auto shop? My husband is very anti-dealer for repairs. Thanks.

I haven't every worked on actual door locks themselves. I have worked with an electrician on the window motors, which also requires taking off the side panels of the door. This isn't something a dealer necessarily has to do, and a good mechanic could probably do it as well. If I had the actual issue with the locks, I could likely do it myself if need be.

Check the GS forum. Some one worked it down to a motor you can purchase and replace.

Welcome to CL, AKA K2!
I think this is the thread that Salim's talking about. It is probably similar to the lock mechanism in the RX, although it won't be identical. . .
