I just moved to TX where a front license plate is required. How do I mount it on my 99 RX? There are no holes, no bracket and the front bumper comes to sort of a point. I did a google search and didn't see any answers. I bought the car used. Was there supposed to be some kind of mounting option?

actually there is a mounting frame, that attached to a front bumper. you can get it at Lexus or Toyota dealership. I do not think it is expensive piece. bt, in any case you need drill holes in the bumper. check an instruction that comes with that frame.

yes, you are right! and that bothers me a lot. but kids on gas stations do not offer hand wash in winter.

You know in Mexico City, but not where I live in Mexico State, they will find any number of ways to ticket you for having a messed up front license plate (faded, hit too many times, etc.). Luckily, my home state of Florida just gives a rear plate and even if I had a front plate, no way in a thousand years would I put one on the front down here.

EDBRO... before you go buy one, look in your tunk where the spare tire and tools are. you may have one there already. I just bought a 2000 RX300 and mine came with a brand new one (OEM LEXUS) in the trunk by the spare tire. if you're in dallas, you can have mine for $10

Hahah I remember some lady backed into the front of my RX, it broke the frame and bent the plate in. I had to stand on it to get it somewhat flat again.

you know how many people buy the aftermarket front license plates with like an L for lexus on them or a BMW crest.... so annoying man. don't they know that if they go to the dealer they will swap out the molding for no charge. ugh I hate seeing Ben'z with the crest pointing off the hood, the crest inside the grill, and another flat crest on some piece of shiny chrome stuck onto the front bumper ALL ON FRONT OF ONE CAR.

Keep in mind that for some people what looks like garbage, could look like a fine piece of for other people. I used to think I saw everything, then I moved to Mexico. Though as a youngster growing up in Caracas and even in Miami, I saw stuff on cars I thought was never possible.
