What year did the Transmission Change

Anyone know what year the RX changed from a aluminum drum transmission to the steel drum transmission? I am looking at buying an RX but I know some of the earlier models had transmission issues.

All I know is,late 2001 (really 2002 model year) the trans. was improved.

Does the 2002 have the steel drum or was that an improvment on the 330?

I have never heard of the steel drum vs. aluminum drum transmission and I would guess by the lack of responses, others are in the same boat. Where did you get this info?
