New AMP for RX300 to increase bass?
I am new to this forum but very active on the e46 forums and bimmer forums...The question I had is that I have a 2002 Rx and it picks up some bass and then some other notes dont hit. I was thinking this is due to the amp since it can pick up other higher notes. I am not sure what kind of amp I have but should I try to change out the amp or is there any other suggestion? What amp should I go with? I want it to sound oem, not too ridiculous with the bass. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Haha, I posted a thread just like that maybe two years ago I think, not sure if it was on this forum or not. Had the exact same problem. I'm guessing you're talking about the stock system. I don't think an amp will fix your problem though. The speaker is going to hit the notes if it can. I ended up putting in a $4k sound system in my RX300 anyway though, just because I like music.
Most of your problem comes from the nakamichi head unit. It limits the door speakers, which are the ones that will usually produce those mid-bass notes that you're missing. If you're talking about just bass notes though, just add subs and a new amp. A single JL w6v2 will do the job, or more if you want.

Replace the door speakers with some good ones and add a box with a JL sub. Shouldn't be too much, def less than $1500. I do audio work on all my cars and I did a JL 13.5 with a JL 1000w mono and Kappas in the door. I spent $1100 including a capacitor and it sounds like a dream. Not on the RX, I did on my Stang.
