Default `99 RX300 leaking water

For the past 2 days, I've noticed a small puddle of water behind the back driver's side tire of my 1999 RX300 (145,213 miles). I reached up under the bumper area and located a "tube" that was wet.

What is this tube and why is it leaking water? I've never noticed it before and have babied this vehicle for over 5 years. Any information would be helpful as I am clueless on this one.

Thanks.

Welcome to the Club.

I think that water is seeping in back there via a groove by the side marker light. I had my passenger side rear side marker light go kaput a few weeks ago due to water seepage. A few years ago on the driver's side when I replaced a bulb there I put some filler in that groove between the light and the rest of the bumper to keep water from getting in there.

Thanks. We have had some recent heavy rains so I'm guessing this may have caused the mysterious puddles? Thanks again for your reply.

It sure can get in there. There is green foam that is on the wires that lead to the bulb and I have found it wet on occasion when probing back there.
