This machine helps give these muffler bodies their distinctive oval shape.

This is what pads the interiors of the mufflers.

And now to take a look at the muffler. I can tell you that total cost of all of this work and this muffler was 1800 pesos, undeer $180 USD. The underside with the logo, alto desempeño means high performance in Spanish. The T original, means Totalmente original, or totally original.

And this will help show what the interior looks like. On the right the two yellow lines indicate two, 2 inch tubes that will shoot to the 2.25 inch pipes that lead back to the Arvin muffler on the rear.

The blue line indicated a 2.5 inch wide pipe that comes from the cat. The small dots indicate the holes on the pipes themselves. They are slightly larger holes than the ones you saw in earlier examples of Kire's handiwork. The blue horizontal lines indicate some larger holes (approximately .5 inch wide slits.

The length of this muffler is about 15 inches or so roughly. It is slightly shorter than the stock resonator on your RX300, and about 7 inches wide.

I will explain the reason for this design in the next few posts.

Now some shots from the top. You can barely see one of the slits on the left tube.

The original design concept was to have the 2.5 inch pipe in the middle between these twin 2 inch pipes. However, the noise would have been significantly louder under this setup, since the sound waves would cross only have the pipe once inside. The OEM resonator on your RX300, uses a similar kind of technology in this sense (stay tuned, we will be getting to that after all of this). By having this setup, the sound can travel across most of the muffler instead of going in the middle and bouncing back and up and out the 2inch pipes. Keep in mind, Kire made the holes in this piping slightly larger so as not lose too much performance (actually I do not think it lost anything and definitely gained something from highway tests). Thus, I get a quieter muffler, which is what I wanted. No drone in idle, and only a roar under mostly half to full pedal acceleration.

And the 2.5 inch side.

I can tell you this weighs a few pounds less than the 17 pound box muffler I had, and that is one of the strong points of these mufflers.
