Unhappy Broken Power Antenna

The power antenna on our RX 300 was stuck in the up position then it was run through the car wash and the mast was bent so now it is really broken. Anybody know how to get to it and replace the unit? Maybe direct me to a how to somewhere.

Same thing happened to me. Ordered a replacement mast from an eBay vendor, at 1/3 the cost of one from the dealer. Easy repair.

Then you have to remove the motor and take apart, removing the trunk panels to get to it is the biggest part of the job. A good diy can handle it. I did mine, wasnt too bad. The nylone is inside the motor gear box and needs to be removed.

I suddenly ran into the same as lexus114. Are there any pictures posted to taking apart the side panel? I hate to start tugging and pulling only to break a plastic bracket or two and end up with a much bigger job.

Lexus114 - how did it go?

I replaced mine in December (for the same reason). It cost me only $25 for the part and the labour cost was free at the dealer.

Yeah, it's always worth at least checking first with the stealer, they have the occasional bargain (I think they are mistakes in their flat-rate manual)!
