hey guys i finally got my system setup its been working really nicely for about one month or so until I decided to open the hood only to see that my in-line fuse holder is pretty much melted I don't know how it survived all these days lol. Now i went to futureshop and bought the stinger inline fuse holder with 80 AMP fuse. I replaced the old one with this. I also decided to change the location of the amp to the back of the left back passenger seat.
Now the amp keeps going on protection mode and sometimes if i wiggle around some things it turns on and everything works. Than again when i come back after turning of the car it turns on and goes to protection mode. It is the fuse fault or does the 1999 Lexus Rx300 have a metal base for the cover of the back seats? Because if it does maybe my screws are touching the thin metal and short circuiting. I attached the pic of my amp on my back of the left passenger seat. Can someone please help me this is getting so frustrating.

A few questions:
How many amps is the amplifier supposed to require (80 amps is 960 watts)?
Since the mounting screws shouldn't have 12v on them, why would you think that grounding them to body sheetmetal would be a potential problem?
Are you running a power cable directly to the battery, or where is it connected (both 12v and ground)? What size cable?
