Default TPS and A/F Error Codes

I have a 2000 RX300 that I'm trying to get back to good after sitting for some time. These forums have been a great help so far, so I wanted to say thank you to everyone before I start shooting questions.

When I first started in, my OBDII was showing 11 codes, which I've now got to 5. The 5 that are left are:

P1130
P1130pd
P1150
P1150pd
and I don't remember the 'code' of the other, but it's TPS / Pedal position circuit malfunction.

The TPS appears to be working correctly and I'm assuming it just needs adjustments. At idle it reads 11.2%. I was unable to find in these forums the correct setting for this.

The A/F sensors, as far as I can tell, show up as O2's on my OBDII. It shows 3 sensors, one of them reads around .9ish during idle and drops to, and will stay at, .000 on the highway. One of the other two is at 3.2ish and hops around a little bit, but not too bad. The other is STUCK at 3.229. No matter what it doesn't change. I'm assuming that the two 3.2's are the A/F's. I've tried unplugging them, one at a time, to see if I could determine which was which... unfortunately, the 3.229 never changed.

Lastly, I was not the original owner of this vehicle and during my recent 'tune ups' I've noticed some funny things. It's worth noting that the vehicle has 187k on it, making the 5 codes seem like a god-send. I was really irritated when trying to change out the back plugs (big hands..) and decided to remove the intake and everything above it. It made my life much easier, but I was disappointed to see quite a bit of oil inside the intake, through the throttle body and even a bit in the MAF tubes... I was just going to chalk this up to so many miles and disregard it, but since I'm asking questions on here anyway, might as well toss it out there.

Lastly, my liftgate handle is rusted out pretty bad and the trim that covers it can only be removed if I break the rusted mounts off. If anyone happens to have those parts spare or know when I can get them cheap, I'm interested.

Thanks for your time.

Welcome to the Club.

I'd like to know first if you sense anything with the vehicle and what have you noticed about your MPG.

Having the pending (pd attached to above codes) and what I believe is the P120/121 error (that is the one related to the throttle position sensor), I would tackle the TPS error first. I would check the resistances on the sensor itself. We have had a few people in the forum over the years have this error and they wound up having to replace the TPS sensor itself.

With the A/F sensor issue, I am fixated on the issue you have with the one sensor remaining on the same figure. Usually, this figure would be 3.30 in the case of a short, but I have seen at least one other case through a PM (private message) where it occurred on other than 3.30, and A/F sensor had to be replaced.

Replaced the TPS and cleaned the MAF. The TPS code hasn't returned and the vehicle is running far better now. It's especially noticeable when idle.

I haven't got around to the A/F sensor yet, but right now it has a little bit of 'hesitation' now and again when cruising at 60. I'm guessing this can be caused by the A/F sensor that's bad, is that correct?

A bad A/F sensor at high speeds will make the acceleration feel a bit retarded, not as smooth, feels like a heavy accelerator pedal.
