What you saw was after affects of moisture condensed on metal along with oil fumes drying off on the metal.
This is the reason I am not a fan of flushes ... they try to dislodge all this gunk (<-not the proper noun ) and then make it oil borne to be trapped in the filter. If these particles get dislodged they may end up clogging an oil channel or damage the seals (they can be abrasive). [bad analogy will be the cancer cells that get carried by blood stream].
If you do see an advantage in doing flush, then what is a good cleaner to use .. the one that dislodges the gunk in a swift action or the the one that works slowly over time. For me the regular oil change is the way to go. Your milage may vary.

At the end ... It is your vehicle and you need to do what you deem fit or worth doing.
That is the reason ymmv is so important.

Please understand that we post opinions here and my opinions are worth the money I get from them ... worthless
. On the other hand I value Lexmex's opinions and have taken his advice on many things.

So how does Auto-RX compare to all the products mentioned so far? Doesn't Auto-RX slowly help workaway sludge into the oil filter? I'm doing my first run with it right now and I'm about 500 miles into the first (cleaning) phase. I don't have sludge but I just was just curious to see if it would benefit me in anyway.
