Default 75,000 is the begining mark of high mileage? please advise?

i went to walmart and looked at mobil 1 synthetic oil for highmileage says if you have 75,000 miles or more you could use mobil1 sythentic high mileage? i did not know 75,000miles was already high mileage, i thought high mileage started at 100,000 miles? i am currently using 5w30 mobil1sythetic, by the time i reach 75,000 miles should i swith oils to high mileage sythetic? or if i stay with 5w30 mobil1 sythetic for the life of my vehicle is that a bad choice? i was going to buy more oil today but forgot i had bought one previosly, but i was thinking if i should stay 5w30 regular synthetic mobil1 or go to there highmileage sythetic? any advise would be appreciated. thanks

I would switch off Mobil 1 5W30 for the moment. I know a few are running tests on Mobil 1 5W30 EP at the moment. I didn't like the EP performance wise in Mexico (gave it one test not too long ago). Would definitely move to the Castrol 0W30 or Pennzoil 5W30. Another one that is very good is Amsoil 5W30, though I think I will give their 0W30 a try on the next oil change several months from now.

And as far as high mileage, I consider the 90K mark, given that a major service change comes around this time, to be the tipping point to high mileage, as that is when I have seen most issues happen, including tranny issues, though unfortunately those have occurred under the 90K mark.

Big one is the timing belt and also the 2 accessory belts (ones visible when you look on the passenger side of the engine bay. In addition, water pump is often usually suggested by Lexus at this time, because easier to get at when going at the timing belt. In addition, if you didn't do spark plugs at 60K, 90K is also a likely time it can be done. But again, the 90K is known for the timing belt change. This is usually without a doubt the most expensive scheduled service.

Radiator flush I do myself every year though generally that would be done at 90K as well.

The waterpump is more durable than the timing belt and you can save it until 120K, but I did at 90K.
