Mrsypher, I noticed you have Weapon-R Intake in your RX, any comments? recommendations? I'd like to get one too, where can I buy it? Price?

Thanks!

The Weapon R INtake goes for around $185, there is also the Stage 2 which is the RAM air kit which goes for $75, and also the Stage 3 is the Cold air box for the intake at $165 all found at www.importstudio.com

i too have the weapon r intake with cold air box...
the box looks junky... looks like you can make your own...
not worth the 150$ they ask for it...
but i got one any ways... sigh

the intake itself is pretty good... i'm enjoying it and all, good launch at start and nice sound...

I heard the SRT is going to have the intake... heatshield... and ecu out for the rx300 in march... so i might wait for that one...

I purchased my intake directly from Weapon-r, i live about a 15 minute drive from them, so i went by and picked it up...

they have a website.. i think its www.weapon-r.com

What kind of gains do you guys have with the intake? In terms of looks and performance? Is it worth it?
Thats the issue to me, worth. Our car aint no 10 second monster. But you know how it goes, you cannot stop the modding. so..???

So do I actually need to get the cold airbox? I was thinking of just changing the intake itself. That way the engine bay will look cleaner and not too cramped-looking...

Cheloo, What's up man?? Listen wait for next month to get your Intake.. I bought the Weapon-R Intake and Coldair-box because I was sick of waiting for SRT to drop theres. They were giving me the run around for about 3 months, so I couldn't wait anylonger. I was at a standstill and my car wasn't getting nothing done to it. It is a working progress and I wasn't getting any progress done.. But now SRT gave a solid date when they are dropping there Intake with a Heat-Sheild and ECU all in one package.. I am personally waiting to see what gains they have and if the specs look right you can buy my Intake and Airbox.. Weapon-R is asking $800. for there ECU chip and that is on special for CL members. SRT have been doing tests and recalibrating the Intake forever now so it must be oof the hook... IMO I would wait.. It is only 1 month....

That's true,

You're right, I think I should be more patient and just wait for the SRT. Do you know who I should contact for more info of the SRT?

Thanks,
Hendry

Chelo, I always ask for Mohamad...

EPK, Yes I know... I have been sitting on the back burner for sometime now. That is why went and got the Intake from WR. This time SRT gave a solid date as to when it is going to drop.. As for the quality you got me there, I have never owned a SRT product. Almost everyone on CL who I have heard from have said SRT is a great company with excellent parts. Personally I haven't delt with them.. All I know is they didn't have a clue as to when the Intake was REALLY coming out, so thats the reason I got the run around...

Weapon R is garbage. If you search previous threads and research from years back, you will see they've gotten alot of bad reviews from here on CL, IS300.net and the huge number of Toyota forums out there. Don't waste your time with foam element filters. You're only doing more damage than good.

flipside,

I too was looking at the weapon-r to help me with the loss in hp I get UP here in Mexico City. Is there something else you would suggest for an RX?

Honestly, a short ram intake will only hurt engine performance considering you lose alot of low end torque with this type of intake (taking in hot air especially at initial acceleration)...and being on very very high elevation, this will only worsen your situation. It's really the last thing you need. I would stick with a panel drop in filter instead.
