Post is too cryptic...

Are you talking about engine mounts? Then again which one ?

bush is a generic term for something that supports a rotating part ... but not a bearing. [bearings are the one with rolling ***** or cylinders]. The bush/bushing is typically made of softer metal with minute cavities to hold oil for lubrication.

Thanks Salim,
The pushing (maybe it is not what I called) I amtalking about here is at the engine mount to the chassis some how broken (old) that when I brougt to change oil the mechanic recommends to change. Do you know what I am talking about here (sorry for newbie question). Thx,

So are talking about engine mounts.

I think there are three mounts and at least one is active. So the active one is not going to be cheap. So I would start by narrowing down which needs replacement.

Once you which one all, the issue is typically of access and equipment. By access I mean at- least one mount is from below .. so you need a pit or a lift. The next is the equipment which can be a hoist or jack to lift the engine.

What would I do ...

Since I lack the equipment and prior knowledge (which point to support and which is the easiest way to access things), I would take it to the dealer. Pay them the high /hr charge with the assurance that no damage is done. (they assume the risk).

I have not done the process, but estimate 3hr of labor charge ($300) + parts. (I estimate the parts may be 1.5 times the labor).

I suggest diy when the cost of labor is more than the parts.

Thx Salim for your advice. The cost for the part is $66.00 for a black rubber thing. I don't try to do it myself since I am very lack of toolings, experience and space. Is this part usually worn out after time (my car is 2000) or defected part? Thx,

Max, the mounts do wear out over time, it is not abnormal to have this problem. They are rubber, and heat, stress, etc. causes them to crack or breakdown little by little.

I found out it calls Engine/Transmission mount bushings (pardon my English on the thread). The reason I ask because the part is not that expensive but the labor charge is extensive. Thx,

Not too bad, that is when as a DIY you do not have the pit or the lift.

Or you can raise it on blocks. Crawl under and lift and undo the engine-trans ... just enough to remove the bad part. Obviously much easier said than done. Not rocket science but can be done.

Try pm to Lexmex.

And on the driver's side we have another mount that helps support the tranny.
