Default Need Help Please

I need some advice. I am adding some electronic devices to my 2000 RX300 and need to gain access to the instrument pod and center console. Observation and careful prying with a screwdriver has so far yielded no results.

Can anyone give me a clue as to how to begin? Or tell me which manual I need to buy?

Thanx ....

Default Butter knife!

Butter knife works great. Stick the knife in about 1/2 inch. Start at the top of the wood part prying it up then move down about 4 inches prying it up until you have gone down and up the other side. Then you can pop it off. You will be able to see 2 bolts that hold the top LCD part on. Good luck.

I plan to install a K40 dual radar/laser detection system and a couple of power jacks for use with my GPS and other stuff.

Thanx for the help.

K40 Undetectable? Cool! I have that installed too... but I had it installed at a car stereo shop though, I personally don't know that much about electronic stuff (only know what I want -- not installing them hehehe...).

Good luck!

I had the LED's of my K40 installed on the outer plastic panel of the gauges, not in the gauges itself. So in case I sell my car, I can remove the K40 and remove the LED's too, so back to clean look...

The K40 control **** I had it installed inside the small drawer next to the sterring wheel -- totally hidden...

See the pic below... pardon my rush using photoshop...

hahaha... you didn't think I drew that diagram, right? I have lots of time off my hands, but I'm not that good in drawing that thing...

I scanned that picture off the RX300 service manual volume 2...

(should have just admitted I drew it... hihihi... )
