P0768 Code Transmission solenoid
#20
Part number 35230 is your Shift Solenoid D. I have the book for rebuilding this transmission. You can also go to Youtube and type in lexus RX300 transmission rebuild and you will see about 14 videos.

Just want to thank you in advance for any help / advise you can recommend re: P0768 shift solenoid D electrical. We have 1999 FWD RX300 with 192K. I'm not sure if there are any relations to CEL above, but prior to getting code. The driver side under dash was making a irratic ticking/clicking sound like electrical relay. Now when I put it gear it feels like lunge and not the normal smooth feel. I haven't really driven the car out of garage yet for fear getting stuck.

Ohmmeter your best fried
I do not own a lexus , but i own a rav4 2002. Wich come with the same transmission as show in the diagram and pictures.
the code p0768 show up about 2 weeks ago ,like all DIY first is get all the information as you can, before you open the transmission pan get a voltmeter you can check for ohm in the harnes terminals from the transmission, you can search in you search engine for harnes diagram there will tell you the specific ohms for solenoid S4 (wich is the famous solenoid D) by the way pin #8, 11-15 ohms if that pin #8 give you 0hms open the transmission pan unplug the s4 solenoid and test for ohms black wire for your voltmeter to the body red wire to the connector shud give you 11-15 ohms if not Chech the small leg coming out for the side from the black connector, some how my wasnt toching the body form the solenid giving me a 0 ohms after i find out that small leg wast doing a good ground , i welded and , YES problem fix

Hello, Mine is doing the exact same as the post above, making noise under driver side dash, like a relay going nuts, tranny has been rebuilt about 30K ago, ECM checked out fine, going to try and check ohms once i find figure and diagrams, but was wondering what ended up being your issue...

Mine was doing that crazy clicking noise, that has stopped as i think the ground on the solenoid was intermittent.. Now, no clicking but at least the issue is consistent, wont go into overdrive.. Snowing in south KC today, so when it warms up i am going to ohm out them out at the ECU.. Not sure i am going to do it tho.. if i can confirm whichever one is open then be worth it to me to have it done for 5-600.. but am going to take a look if i can get to the pan.. I found this video, guessing it is the U140 does not seem bad to drop that??
