When I went to fill up today, I noticed that the gas cap cord came off of the gas cap. Everything seems intact, but it isn't obvious to me how it goes back together. Do you think something broke off? Maybe a photo of how they attach would be of help? The plastic loop is intact, but it seems either too small or too large for the likely places where it would go. Or, should I just chop the cord off (there is a holder on the cas cap door)?

Mine came off today as well. I noticed the gas attendant put my gas cap on top of the pump. Quickly I got out and asked him why he took it off, he stated it had come of the plastic holder. So I snapped it back into place. It looks like it just comes off every once in a while when playing with it. And yes there is a holder behind the gas door.

Well, given more time (not at a gas station on the highway), I fixed it. The plastic ring did slip into the groove on the top of the gas cap.
