Default CD won't play burned CD's

Hello, my 2000 RX300 will not play CD's that I have burned through mp3s. Does anyone else have this problem and is there a fix people know of? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Yep, you've got to burn them as uncompressed music files, such as WAV, not a compressed format like an MP3. You need a stereo that knows how to read MP3 format to play them, and the factory 2000 RX300 system just ain't that system

If you are going to burn music from MP3 files, you need to convert them to a regular CD audio file before you burn the disc. Last night I had some MP3 files my wife downloaded for a friends birthday party and we wanted to put them on a video (requiring .wav files). The task was really easy using the Nero suite, although I'm sure there are a lot of freeware programs out there that will do the same thing.

I used Nero Wave Editor to simply open the MP3 file, then save it to another temporary folder. The default output of Wave Editor is .wav (surprise!) The conversion on my dual Xeon box required about 8 seconds for a three minute song.

There has to be a better way than this - my wife burns CD's all the time from her MP3 file collections so we can take her music on trips without having to interface an MP3 player. I think she has Nero Express set up to do this conversion automatically when burning discs,

Freeware available at http://www.mp3-converter.com/mp3_converter_freeware.htm

. . . and others.

BTW - be sure to burn to a CD-R disc - the RX 300 and at least the early RX 330 will not read CD-RW's.

Hey guys I was just curious since on my rx the frontloader and air con and all of the buttons are on that one same board. How would one add a touch screen lcd radio or something different?

I use NERO burning rom to make music cds. what I do is drag and drop mp3s into the cd playlist to burn and just burn away.. it has to be done on a cd-r not cd-rw. the cd changer might not be able to read cd-rw discs at all. could also be the brand of media you're using try other brands and see what works the best..

The stock CD player will not play MP3, you'll have to convert to CD format first before burning. Also, CD-R works best as I've never had problems playing CD-R burns. I heard CD-RW won't even work and CD+R or CD+RW are not good either.

My wife's 2000 RX plays burned CD-R's but they crackle and pop, sounding terrible (it plays original CD's just fine).
I have used these EXACT burned CD-R's in my 1996 LS400 and they play perfect!
I don't get it... the LS is 4 years older but seems to "have" something the RX doesn't.

Any ideas or info would be appreciated!
