Default Brake Reservoir Has Any Sensor ?

My 2000 RX300 AWD having problem for BRAKE sign and ringing. Brake works good. Does the brake reservoir has any sensor on it? I should replace the cap or whole thing. Ideas are highly appreciated. Called lexus for the whole cap and stick costs $88.23.

Yes the float is a sensor. You can manually pull it up and down to see if the light indicator change.

If I remember it correctly, the other end of the float is a plug. Try to unplug, exam, and plug it back in. Replace it (if bad) is pretty straight forward but remember to flush the whole system with fresh brake fluid (two man pump and drain, monitoring-reservior-level classic method)

Doesn't the foot/emergency brake also light up the "BRAKE" light? Maybe your brake is not completely released? Press and release a few times to make sure it completely releases.

Thanks TunedRx300 for your suggestions. I changed the brake reservoir switch assembly and now i have no problems. Thanks.
