Default trans axle 1st to 2nd

I have noted before on the board re;my RX`s first to second gear slippage. This may sound strange, but I noticed when the ambient temp.out side is cooler, this is when this slippage happens. When it`s hot outside,it shift`s fine.(since I cleaned the speed sensor`s now it only happen`s when it`s cooler outside) Why this is happening is yet another RX mystery(usually with transmissions it`s the other way around).I would also like to mention that when I switched to Amsoil this summer in the trans.,I didn`t like the results at all.The shifts were awkward, the hunting for lower gear stuff was very bad.I am not going to bash Amsoil here, but my trans.does not like this stuff at all.As soon as I put back in the Castrol multi-import vehicle fluid, shifts went back to normal, and the gear searching(at low speeds)stopped happening.Witch was very pronounced on the Amsoil.I think their is some sort of an electronic glitch with my trans.I`ll keep you all posted on what ever else I find.BTW I cleared the ecm several times within this past year, thinking maybe that would help,It didn`t

What I have noticed with the Amsoil is that it takes longer to warm up compared to the Type IV fluid. I gave my Type-IV fluid a few weeks here in Florida and it was very noticeable when I switched to Amsoil. Haven't had an issue with what you describe going 1 to 2 though.

Well Lex,since trans.failure is probably inevitable @ some point due to the impeccable track record of the early U140F,I will simply pacify it on what it run`s best on until that time comes.Witch seem`s to be the fluid I mentioned previously, and I also noted nice result`s from the Lube Guard transmission fluid additive I used before the switch over to Amsoil. You should give it a try some time,I would like your opinion. It get`s great results on oil forums like bob is the oil guy.(I think it was on his forum)
