since were on the subject of oil, i just switched on my last change to pennzoil full synthetic 5w-30 and ive noticed a good improvement, havent heard anyone say anything about pennzoil so just curious to hear you thoughts
fyi im still going to do oil change @ 3k miles just to keep it nice and clean, maybe its overkill but i do have 213k miles on it

What are we talking with "100% synthetic" and Mobil 1 not being? Last I check, Mobil 1 is a synthetic motor oil, did not know it was mixed with anything. It's definitely not a "synthetic blend" like say some Pennzoil blends.
Hey, my '92 Integra I've been using since new and 220K no issues. My RX has been using Mobil 1 since 40K, thus far no issues at 110K.

That's nice. My RX has been using the cheapest dino oil since Day 1, so far no issues at over 130K. Does not burn a drop of oil.
My daily drive consists of long and high revving to negotiate the Colorado mountain terrain. And the occasional towing of 2,500 lbs. crossing the Continental Divide and up 12% grade dirt road.

I'll be the first to admit that AMSOIL's marketing setup is crap. On the upside, I did see an add in one of the import mags so maybe they're starting to change some?
On the flip side if they didn't have the whole MTM thing going on, I might never have become a dealer for them.
I think the 25k oil change interval is a "best case scenario" where if you don't ever drive hard, and you don't drive in stop and go traffic, and its a car thats easy on oil. I'm not sure if you noticed it but they have a "normal service" and a "extreme service" the latter is for cars that have 100,000 miles or more on them, modified cars, turbo or supercharged cars, stop and go driving, frequent short trips, ect and that rating is 15,000 mile oil change interval. I find most people fall into the second category.
It's still great oil, and thats why I sell it. I do run it in my cars and love it. If you do research on AMSOIL you'll find lots of people mad about MTM aspect but not alot of people unhappy with the product. For the more hardcore people that drive their cars hard, or modify them, I think a synthetic oil is the only way to go. For sure in the turbo charged cars where the oil can cook to the bearings when you turn the car off. Yes I have seen water cooled turbo cars still do this.
Their other products seem to be of the finest quality as well. I'm going to be trying some out in my SC400 A/T when I add the cooler & remote oil filter so we'll see how well it does under heavy abuse.
