I'm new to theforum,and just bought a 2001 rx300 andneed toknow where the oil filter is located?

Welcome to the Club.

It is right under the front exhaust manifold.

If you do a search you'll find a wealth of DIY info here. Usual protocol is search first and then ask if you can't find it or doesn't answer your questions.

I didn't know this either when I first posted here so members helped me out and did the search for me.

Here is a link with a very good "How to" on changing oil and other maintenance needs.

Lexmex photo shows the filter with a nut at the back-end of the filter. That is because he is using a K&N filter. If your RX has the Lexus/Toyota filter the nut would not be there. Look for black canister filter instead of the off-white.
