Default Passenger tire or SUV tire

What would you use. With load rating being the same. Will you go with a passenger tire or a SUV tire. Reason for asking, when you type in 225-70-16 on TR you will get both kinds and more.

A TR rep says the passenger tire will be more comfortable, a slightly softer sidewall, more mileage vs a SUV tire like the yoko 5051 which gets high marks but prob a rougher ride and more wear

Unless you are going to be in a place like Mexico you can go with a passenger tire. Those Goodyear Integritys I had down there didn't last more than a few months.

I would forgo the improved ride and longer life of the passenger tire and select the stiffer sidewall of the SUV tire to offset the higher center of gravity, short wheelbase and overall weight of this vehicle.

All depends on what you want from the car. If you use it as a daily driver car and don't do any off-roading, you're probably better with a smooth-riding, quiet, passenger car tire like the Integrity. On the other hand, if you drive up hills in snow, ice and mud then be prepared for some excitement with the Integrities - they are definitely not the best (and are possibly the worst) off-road tire!

I like your avatar!!,I do agree with you re;traction of the integrity`s. If I didn`t have the AWD last winter,I don`t think I could have gotten any traction at all. I definitely could feel my traction breaking loose last year in the snow.
