Default 1999 RX300 Lug Nuts

I busted my keyed-tool and one of my keyed lug nuts...not fun. I'm assuming it will be cheaper just to replace all 4 keyed-lug nuts with 4 new/used regular-lug nuts. Any other cheaper routes than this? best place to buy? Appreciate your time. Thank you.

Same thing happened to me. I ordered a new keyed-tool to remove the locks then bought 4 lug nuts from a Toyota dealer. Part #9094201058. Cost $5.94 each. List is $6.60

That's a lot less money than I expected. I always debate whether or not to use the keyed lug nuts. I don't think I've ever seen an RX up on blocks after having it's wheels stolen!

Got to be a real dumb thief to move 200 lbs of weight while he could use risk his neck for $2000 for a forged rim off tuned cars that weight a lot less. Who is going to buy used RX300 rims from someone's trunk while a typical RX300 owner does not even think about changing a blown tire with that "Jack up the car and change for the spare? That is AAA's job" mentality.

That may no longer be the case. I don't have any statistics, but I'm guessing the typical RX300 owner these days didn't buy the RX new for $35,000-$45,000; but rather bought it used for $10,000-$20,000 and doesn't take it to the dealer for most of the service. RX300's these days range from about 6-10 years old.

That could be true, or bought by many laid off investment bankers who just sold their MBs and downgrade to older SUVs to haul family around. These folks are white collared but has to get cash out of avaliable assets to feed the family, but gas is cheaper so operating cost is lower now. Now that is putting financial knowledge to work rather than writing Credit Swaps like no tomorrow

The guy where I have my car serviced even made a comment something like: Why don't you get rid of the wheel locks, it's just potential problems and nobody steals wheels and tires like these anymore.
Of course there are always some neighborhoods where nothing is safe.

When money gets tighter and spare parts are hard to afford, I'd rather keep the locks on my RX. I know of at least one friend of ours down here who got a rim/tire taken off their BMW right in their driveway.

When I had a used BMW 320i in the mid 1980's, they used to say BMW stood for "break my window" as in stealing the radio. Maybe it also stood for "borrow my wheels!"

I had a friend who had one of those, I think it was an '81 and he had a 700 watt system in that thing and had a sensor that would alert him remotely if someone was trying to break in.

I did this once and I contacted the company and I got a replacement free from them. The manufacturer is McGard http://www.mcgard.com/ note I had trouble with there website before.
