I have lost all keys for my 2000 RX300. I have heard horror stories about the cost to have them replaced. Any ideas as to the cheapest way to get a replacement?

I don't think it has to be all that horrible. From reading this forum for a while, the options seem to be: (1) go to a dealer if they agree to reflash the module for free if you buy the overpriced keys from them, or (2) overnight-mail your module to one of the places that you can find from a web search or forum search that will reflash the module and sell you keys for probably less than the dealer will charge for just the keys. FYI, the RX300 came with two master keys (with remotes), one valet key, and one flat (creditcard-sized) key.

i know the 2gen rx the dealership can reflash the ecu at the dealership but not the 1stgen.

I distinctly remember that when I took delivery of my new 1999 RX300 the dealer warned me that if I lost all the keys, the cost to reprogram would be $1,300 or more, and that was 10 years ago.

The re-flash is NOT free, I was told by the dealer that if I lost all my master keys a reflash could cost upwards of 1k+
