I have overloaded the circuit with an inverter, but even after replacing the fuse, I still could not get power back to the lighter. In-fact, all 3 cigarette lighters in the car stopped working

Check for voltage before and after the fuse. There is a possibility that another fuse (upstream) could be popped.

I hope it is not the proverbial case of me providing you the rope ...
Use a voltmeter to check voltage ... - to chasis gnd, and + tip on the point where the fuse is.
[note you must move the ign-key to ACC or run to get the 12v on lighter]
