Default Heet in the gastank?

My wife was two cities away when she got in the RX300 and tried to start it, so I don't know what it sounded like, the circumstances, etc. She said it would try to turn over maybe once and then quit. Then she called our brother-in-law who lives nearby, and he came by and it started right up! Then he decided it was vapor lock and poured a bottle of heat in the gastank.

I don't know what really was the problem, but I'm guessing my wife left the dome light on, and combined with the -24º weather, was enough to kill the battery. After waiting for the brother in law, the battery regained enough power to start the engine.

Either way, there's now a bottle of heet in the tank. Is this bad for our cars?

I guess in desperation one reaches for anything ...

If the engine is not turning (spinning by starter), the fuel can never be the problem.

My understanding can be wrong, but vapor-lock was a problem in carboretted (sp?). With injector based vehicles, you can have a problem with the pump or injector themselves.

With the additive in there [although I think will not cause a problem] but you have 2 choices ... dilute or drain.

Good point. I think Heet is relatively benign, so I think I'll fill the tank with gas and run 'er through.

I have known some people who have used Heet in Toyota vehicles in Mexico with no issue, don't know of someone with an RX300 offhand with real-time experience, but I would expect same result. I have also had vapor lock when I had my RX after a long down-the-mountain journey from Mexico City to Veracruz and eventually ran some Techron in the fuel and had a happy journey home.

if I`m not mistaken,Heet is a moister absorber.Shouldnt hurt anything.I still wonder if this wasn`t an iac valve issue. After reading again, does sound like a battery issue. Was the clock back to 1:00?
