Ac problem
I have a 99 RX300 with 104000miles, recently turned the AC on and it just blows warm air. I had the AC serviced a yr in a half ago. I live in AZ where you really need AC. What things should i be looking at? thanks in advanced.

Have you changed different modes on the air selection, maybe the servos motor for the flapper doors arent working. Also put it to max cool and open the hood and see if the air conditioning pump is engaged. the end sticking past the drive belt should spin when the air conditioning is on and cycling. Probably best to see if the compressor is coming on first to make sure you are pumping coolant.

The condensers (part in front of the radiator) on the RX's are extremely vulnerable to road debris and can be punctured very easily. Although I would have thought if it were a sudden puncture you would have noticed the lose of oil with the coolant. Look into the lower opening in the front bumper and see if you see any damage to the condenser.

Both are good advice ..
1. Check if the compressor is getting engaged [engine rpm should momentarily go up as the load from comp is added]. Check if the "cold" pipe feels cold or you see condensation on it.
2. check for bubble free refrigerant in the inspection window (cooling circuit).
FYI There is a pressure switch and if the ref. pressure falls below the safe limit, the compressor does not come-on.
