well, 700 bucks to replace an a/f sensor is insane, did they at least give you a reach around with that?

seriously you can go pick up these things for 160 bucks at autozone and it takes 10 minutes to put the front one in, the rear one is a pain but still, not 540 dollars worth in labor, maybe like 20 bucks in labor lol. If you need direction on how to do this yourself there is a ton of info on this forum to help you out, like it did for me

I know....no lube either...but don't you think it is funny that first the P1135 was the only code, and then the next day it was the P1150..? What happens when I replace the A/F and then another sensor error code appears..? and the A/F sensors up here in Washington are $260 a piece.. $280 at the Lexus dealer...$259 at Napa and Schucks..

You can get Denso OE sensors (exactly the same as originally installed) from Rockauto for $150.

autozone should be the same price nationwide, if nothing else you could take the print out of the price from autozone to advanceautoparts and theyll price match, they did that for me anyway

@ImOutRu:

Can you please explain why you have to replace both at the same time? I have this same problem and only bought 1 BSH 15217 for bank 1 sensor 1. Also, can I feel safe that I was forced to by the Bosch brand instead of buying the Denso online? Are they equal quality? Thanks for you help.

He hasn't been on in about a year, but I'll try to answer it for you.

You can go ahead and buy just one for now, but sometimes what occurs is the other one might go on the fritz soon thereafter, or you get some odd feeling in the vehicle, because on sensor is running A+ and the other one is running C+. Granted, both are on different banks, but they also still push the same wheels. Go ahead and buy one for now and see what occurs.

We've had instances where people didn't buy the Denso and wound up with issues with non-Denso brands. I'm not a proponent personally on Denso for everything, but A/F sensors (despite their cost) would have a Denso name if going in my vehicle. Again, I make no guarantees on this.

Some things that are mechanical in nature, you can get away with running non-OEM. I'm still on my OEM A/F sensors despite years of Mexican gasoline.

Thanks Lexmex! I had the shop put the Bosch one on and so far so good, finally no more CEL!. I'll post on here if I run into some problems with the Bosch sensor though. It's early but I can definitely notice an improvement of MPG and it just feels better overall.
