Default Chirping sound at iddle

Hello everybody,

I have a good one here, I have this chirping sound when my RX its at iddle and cold. I thought that it was the belt, so, I put some belt dressing but the sound didn't go. I'm guessing that is a bearing from the alternator. Anyone had this problem before?

Thanks

Sounds like you might be on the right track. I have experienced this on a previous vehicle before. Could also be an idler pully, water pump,(although doubtful) did you spray both sides of the belt?

Can you twist the belt a full 90degrees, if so it is too loose....

I had the chirping, had the belts replaced, and it went away.

I'm not saying that tightening the belts won't also temporarily cure the chirping; but, if the belts are over 5 years old, I'd just spring for new belts.

I had the same problem, it went away after replacing the drive belts.

The belt is relatively new (less than 2 years) but I will replace it anyway. Let you know if that was the problems.

Thanks everybody

I had to retighten mine for that noise. the new belt will stretch after a while. It is not fun to tighten it.
