Alternator gone bad "battery light"
Hi!
I just wanted to give a "heads-up" on cars getting up in milage. I just had to replace my factory alternator. My battery light has been flashing once in a while, then it was staying on longer and longer. On my way home from work, my ABS light came on, then I lost my center console lights, then my dash went dark.-
-As soon as I got home, my battery light went out, and things went right back to normal.
Next day, when the battery light came on, I went under the hood and checked my voltage, it was 12.04 volts. Later when the light went out, it was 13.6.
After I changed the alternator, I got 14.3 volts, and boy are my lights bright now!
I currently have 262,000 miles. So I guess I got my moneys worth on the factory alternator.
So in case anybody gets a battery light, you might want to check your voltage!
