Default Your experience with tires for rx300

I have 47000 on 2001 RX300 and looking to replace tires. Reading from posts here I could gather that GoodYear Integrity is so so and Michelin MXV 4, Bridgestone Alenza seem good. Please share your experiences and suggestions are most welcome.

Thank you
Brad

I got 70K out of my ole Yokohoma Geolander H/T-S G051's size 225/70R-16. I really liked tire. I know I will get some laughs on this: but after a lot of research and some advise from my Uncle, a retired tire engineer, I went with the General Grabber HTS. So far very happy but time will obviously tell. I also went up to 235 in size.

Many people here love the Michelin Cross Terrains and Bridgestone Duelers.

"GoodYear Integrity is so so"

That's a huge understatement to me! Those are the worst tires I have ever had in my life.

I have Kumho Solus KH16's for summer tires, good in the rain but poor in snow. I use Firestone Winterforce tires in the winter. They are A+++ when the snow falls.

Consumer reports picked your tire as #1 for SUVs...I can't get the General Grabber at Discount Tires here in Dallas, but they have the Continental CrossContactLX, which was listed as #2. I understand Continental owns General Tire, so hopefully they will be the same - would your uncle agree? I am up for new tires so I expect to get a set in the next few weeks.

I also have Kumho Solus tires on my 2001 Rx 300 and have been happy with them...they are a great value..

I had speed rated Kumho tires on my Porsche Boxter and was also happy with them...........

Default wear on outer edge

I also noticed that both front tires wear on outer edge. Middle of the tire has considerable thread left. Will new tires and wheel alignment correct it?

Thank you so much for sharing experiences.

There were a lot of issues with General in the past. According to my Uncle, this is no longer an issue now that they're with Continental and they make a great tire regardless of price. They are #1 at CR and Tire Rack, so I took a shot. Again, time will tell for the wear. So far, very happy!

I have 65K on Michelin Cross Terrains and I bet I'll get at least another 10K out of them.

We put the Michelin Cross Terrains on our GX 470 and have been very happy. I plan to use them on the RX300, too. Our dealer recommended them over the stock Duelers (H/T, I believe) on the GX.

The Goodyear Integrity has no "integrity" for the road and even worse on snow. Depending on where you live (if you get snow) and how quiet your RX must be, but I had Cross-Terrains by Michelin which we excellent on the snow and rain. They handled a little big loud on dry pavement, but the benefits on snow outweight the noise.

I have Bridgestone Duelers H/L or something like that... no good on snow. Might only be as good as the Integrity, but can't tell yet as they are new.
