Default Ivory with Brown-Gray interior; scratch coverup

I have Ivory leather with brown-gray glove compartment, center console.
I have been carrying pipes and garden equipment and have superficial scratches on the gray-brown plastic. They are not deep gouges, but none the less the edges of garden stuff has scratched it up.

Any tried and tested solution?

Salim

wet-sanding with ~800 grit sandpaper, brushing with steel wool, polishing with 3m scratch remover to get the shine to match the rest of the area.

Works great And as long as you go with the grain of the dash, you will never know a scratch was there.

I never considered using the 3m scratch remover on vinyl/leatherette. I will give it a try in a hidden corner.

The surface scratches are no worse than steel wool would leave behind (although the steel wool will leave a patch while the scratches I have are lines)

Thanks

Sounds like a good solution. I will try it around the key area as well as the drivers scuff plate. I have Plastx, will this be OK to use also instead of 3m? Similar right?

Thanks,
Yosh

the plastx will give the same results as the 3m... it's just a compound.

Plastex (sp?) made the area dull. The scratch now looks like a scuff mark.

I need spmething to bring back the shine.

Double shrug, Armourall?

3m rubbing compound works lol I guess the plastix wasn't fine enough. You really need to 'buff' like you're polishing a car's exterior.
