I'm getting new KYB struts for my 1999 Lexus RX300 with 116k miles on it. What other parts on the suspension should I replace when having this done? I'm thinking it's probably a good idea to get new mounts put on too at this kind of mileage.

I am doing the same to my 1999 Lexus RX300, I have about 85k on mine. The strut mounts are all noisy and all bad. So I am replacing the entire strut and the strut mounts together. Also, there are some rubber parts in there somewhere that I was told to replace beacause most likely they are worn out as well. Hope this helps.

+++++ 1 ^^^^^^ Too bad Monroe doesn`t make the quick strut for the RX.(spring/Strut already installed together.) I`m not sure I would go back to the KYB,but that`s just my own opinion.

I'm thinking about doing the same thing but worried about the cost. The thing that really gets cracked are the rubber bushings in the control arms. However, the bushings are not sold separately. Therein lies my problem. I thought about going with Daizen bushings but I've heard that they make the ride way too harsh.
I don't know of other solutions, however....

Did some costly work on my 1999 RX300 last weekend.
was hearing a clicking noise from my left front tire. Turns out that the cv joint boot rubber had burst. Think it was my fault as i went a little offroading (if u want to call it offroading- driving hard on a gravel road with some grass).
anyways, ended up changing other stuff that my mechanic brought to my attention such as stabilizer links and both front control arms (rubber was cracked).
I order all four stabilizer links from rockauto.com - they have some beefed up versions that are stronger than stock. The stabilizer link was making the noise, so thank God it was not the CV joint. These have not reached as yet but the control arms made a hell of a difference.
RX is riding much smoother now. My Only peeve is that my shocks are good but my shock mounts are bad, so i get this irritating knock when i hit bumps and holes.
Maybe you can take a look at some of these things as they may need changing by now!
