Kyb ultra sr & gr-2 struts
I replaced my original 4 struts F/R about 2 years before with original new struts bought from the Manhattan Lexus in NYC. But now few months i feel very bumpy and not great. I checked all struts are fine no leaking except front srtuts lower insulations of springs cracking. Should i change the all struts top seats and lower insulations ? I have no idea. The rides in my 2000RX 300 AWD not smooth. Tire pressures are standard and lower control arm bushings, swaybar links are good.
How is the Kayaba Ultra SR struts ? Any ideas. It only sold in europe. Is it better than KYB GR-2? If so i will get it from europe. Thanks.

This is why Im replacing mine with Monroe`s.If your struts ride quality has diminished already, that isnt saying anything good about KYB.As for your question, your sure the lower control arm bushings are not the probable cause here?

Hello!
@Lexus114... hy! is fine in austria, little bit cold (10-16°C) many to work in my job (ups-systems) and each weekend work on the lexus or Toyota cars from my friends, this my hobby. Install superchargers, change clutch and brakes and sometimes on the 1976 Camaro from my girlfriend
@gazi001... The Eibach the same as the TTE Springs, only other label. Eibach springs cost 230 Euro and higher, H&R springs 190 Euro and higher (40mm springs) you find this on ebay.de
I have paid for the 4 KYB 500 Euros with shipping costs from germany to me. The price is from a friend for me, he works in a car-part-store. You find pics in my RX Thread https://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx-...m-austria.html the hardness is little bit more than Bilstein B6, but not so hard as Koni Yellow (this have i in my IS)
i ask him tomorrow for the regular price.
it is possible to order the parts from kayaba in the usa with the part number?
interesting is, in the usa, i can buy the rear strut mount from kayaba for the RX ( i have installed new) but not in Europe, the parts not listet. And in europe are the SR dampers and not in the USA...crazy world!

Thanks. Can you ask your friend how much costs for shiping to NY,USA? You could order KYB parts here in the US but not for the Ultra SR struts.

Lexus- I don't think he said he put KYB on and they went bad, I think he was saying that he used original struts from Lexus and he was asking peoples opinion about the KYB's, since the Lexus struts lasted so short a time. Maybe I misunderstood.

Hey "codester" how `s things out their in CA?? Super crappy weather here in PA. Any way, Lexus struts are KYB...... I don`t necessarily believe the KYB struts are not any good, you can get bad ones with any of them.

Did your dealer replace the struts? If so you need to go back to them and complain - they shouldn't fail in only 2 years. Don't they come with a warranty greater than 12 months (usually lifetime). Similarly, if the mounts and bushings have failed, they should have been replaced when the struts were originally done and the dealer should have seen this at the time. Of course, if you did the work yourself, then only the parts may still be warranteed. Either way you should check this out.
I don't like putting stiff struts on older cars - usually makes them ride like a tractor, only worse!

Thanks all of you. I bought the original struts from lexus dealer and installed myself with help from my friend. Also thanks to Tom for the price info for Ultra SR.
