My 2000 RX AWD (75K miles) has a "hiccup" when accelerating from a stop.. The problem seems to be worse first thing in the morning, however lately it is becoming more frequent even when the engine is warm.
The RPMs don't drop below a usual idling speed but will get stuck between 1000 and 1500 RPMs for a second or 2 before acceleration smooths out above 2000 RPM.
Air filter changed last week, so I know that's not the problem.
Any help would be appreciated.

Check and clean MAF (mass air flow) sensor, check idle control valve and clean the throttle body / valves. If your air filter was very dirty chances are these would be dirty too. I would start with MAF sensor since it's the easiest and most likely is the problem.

when i was having a Hesitation problem i checked everything and it turned out to be the Throttle body cable. It just needed tightening up and now it really moves.
Hope your problem is that simple!
