Default Looking For stock Chromies.!!

I want to give my Rx a New look but its a lease so I dont really want to spend too much.
I figured I can exchange my stock rims for chrome.. Anyone know where I can get a good price or if its even worth it.?
I heard they'll end up chipping..

yea definitly is something to look into, so many cheap chrome rims on ebay that all LS, IS and GS people are selling bc they put aftermarket ones on theirs. i think the IS and GS 4 rims would look the best. same type of 5 star rims.

i remember talking to the parts guy at lexus about swapping my alloys for chrome and i think he said about 800-1000 to swap it... too much man. Not including labor or anything so that would cost even more...

I also want to know if any other Lexus stock rims would fit our 5 lug wheels.... I really wanted to put those IS300 17" graphite rims on my rx300... dont know if it will fit or not. If it works and fits... that will be my next item on list =)

I wanted to put something like the IS or GS 17's on the RX but I don't think it will work. The backspacing is too different. What about the new Matrix 17" wheels. Since it is a FWD vehicle the wheels may be 6.5" wide like the RX or 7" wide and still fit w/o any modifications.

I suppose you could add spacers, but many people (including me) don't like using them.

Spacers can cause your bearings to wear out quicker. It puts more stress on the suspension. If you use a quality spacer (15 or 25mm) you'll be okay as long as you don't put too much stress on the wheels (i.e. offroading, racing, things like this) but I would just rather have a wheel with the proper dimensions - it would be a better fit.

I'm thinking about upgrading my wheels too. A local tire/wheel shop near me suggested strongly against using spacers. They told me that they have changed the wheels on many RX's without using spacers, but you have to use the correct dimension wheel and tire. For an 18" wheel, they told me I would have to use 255 55 R18's. They gave me a price of $1800 for Toyo tires and wheels. Do you guys think that is too much? The rims they have are chrome and pretty sweet.
