New 18x7.5 wheels 255x55 tires
I have been reading all the threads on wheels for almost a year and finally did it. The tires are Yokohamas AVS S/Ts 255x55 on Helo Bezel 18x7.5 20mm offset. The key to clear the rear strut is the offset. Changed to Better Picture

Nice! Any difference feel when driving with the 18" wheels? Since the tires are thinner than our regular 16", I've heard that the comfortable ride may be compromised a little bit, what do you think?

Depends on what you want. I wanted to add more "sport" to the equation. It corners MUCH better but the regular driving is about the same, except that it tracks better, meaning that you have to input less correction when driving straight. I have not noticed any louder tire noise even with this larger tread. I am very pleased with the result

Where did you buy your rims from? I'm looking into 255/55/18's too. Your rims/tire package looks great. Can you tell me a little about the rims? Is it a three piece with those rivets and how much? I research 18" and companies are looking at $3000. What brand is it too?
Thanks
Thanks

Thanks! I'm sure I will get some flack on this but I used Discount Tire. The wheels are one piece cast. I got them in Houston mounted lifetime road hazard lifetime balance lifetime finish and tax for just over $1500 total. I could have gone for a real 2 or 3 piece for twice that but this is not a racecar, but it does coner like a gocart now.

nice wheels man. ive been wanting to change my wheels since the first day i got my rx.
Also, Im so glad you said, "I have not noticed any louder tire noise even with this larger tread." I always wondered about that!
well youve convinced me! its all about finding a place here in boston to do it.
By the way, where was this discount tire store in houston?
I was a little confused when you said, "I got them in Houston mounted lifetime road hazard lifetime balance lifetime finish and tax for just over $1500 total."
wow either i read the sentence wrong or I have no clue where to punctuate it and thus cant read it correctly.
My parents live in sugarland so is it anywhere near there? is the store name "Discount Tires" ? I may make a trip back to "visit them." : )
Thanks dude for the inspiration!
