Hey Guys,

I own an 01 RX300. I know it's probably not worth very much at this point with the high mileage and all, but I wasn't sure if any of you guys knew about electric car conversions. Do you think this car would be a good candidate for the conversion? I'm totally unfamiliar to the entire process, but I'm intrigued by the idea. Do any of you have any websites you can refer me to that would be able to give me a detailed overview of the process? Thanks!

I hate to say this but, given the above, it's not something you should entertain. It would be a prohibitively costly undertaking even if you were a competent and confident mechanic. To pay someone else to do this would be................... well................... expensive!

I can think of all sorts of problems in attempting such a project, and I don't think it would ever pay for itself in fuel savings.

You could try doing some calculations though, as an exercise. And maybe check what would be required for state registration.
