Thanks for the info guys it really helps with the frustration. Its hard when I know nothing about transmissions and money is real tight these days.
I paid AAMCO 600 and some change for the replacement solenoid & labor then Lexus 100 something to read the computer.
So really AAMCO wants 4400 for the tranny rebuild.
The original code was P0768 malfunction in solenoid D need to get it read again but the funny thing is if it weren't for the vsc+check engine light I wouldnt even know there was a problem. The lex drives fine other than there's no OD and it guzzling gas
Hate to get rid of the lex but I dont see putting 4400 dollars into a 02 vehicle.

Man, I have a rebuilder here in Sacramento that will do it for $2900. He is the one that showed me the weak carrier gear assembly on the exact tranny that is used in our Cars. You could save a lot of money by finding an independent tranny shop that treats you right.
