RX's capabilites are IMPRESSIVE, INDEED!!
The RX just keeps on surprising me every time I read something more about this remarkable vehicle.......looks like I might switch my decision to get the GX 470 and go with the redesigned RX instead, which is rumored to come out this fall or early 2003 (not only will it be about 10K less, far better fuel economy, and decent ruggedness as evidenced here:
For those that say that the RX is just a station wagon, I'm sure this picture of it off roading will convince you otherwise!!!!......I was sure surprised

RX off-roading....
.......BTW that picture was from "TRUCK TREND'S" SUV comparison test. The review said the RX made it through the entire trail without getting stuck or needing to be pulled out, though they heard a little scraping of the undercarriage once or twice

Very nice I must say, when I first saw the picture I was completely expecting to see wwest's post directly afterward I just got that feeling.
I was thinking maybe a Land Rover pulled the RX up for that photo shot...lol, j/k.

Me too... I thought maybe a Helicopter lifted it there and just placed it on the rocks.... I don't ever think I'll try to do something like that with my RX. With my luck I'd go over a big rock and get stuck with all 4 wheels off the ground, just hanging there... Picture that...

That IS suprising!!
I have to say thats maybe 85% driving than RX's capablities. I recently try to get across this curb that was a little higher than normal ones, and i couldnt do it. Was a little pissed at the time, because it could of saved me 2 hours in traffic. Im sure a QX4 or something would of gone over it. Judging from the picture, the driver have great ability to position the car over those obstacles. I rather have a LX and just run over them, as oppose to "manuver around" them.

Wow, indeed!
That's a cool shot of an RX doing what most won't even dare try with their baby...
Me, I wouldn't do it, cost me too damn much to own one and too damn much to repair if I screwed up and caught a rock into the tranny or something... No worth the hassle.
If was into boulder hopping, I'd get something a little more affordable like a Jeep Cherokee and bounce happily along.
I dunno, but going offroad in my RX is like running around hiking trails in my dress Florsheim shoes.
