Rough start
Hello all, this is my first time posting anything on this site and I have real a lot of great help on the Forums. I have a 1999 rx300 with 133,000 miles and the check engine light is on. When I start my car it turns right back off unless i keep my foot on the gas and brake and slip it in to drive and then it will stay on. I had the CEL checked and they said that it is an O2 sensor that is bad I changed the one that is on top of the motor near the radiator. Also when i am driving it sound like there is a hole in my muffler. About 2 years ago the 02 sensor near the catalitic convertor fell off and a shop put it back on. I havent checked to see if for some unseen reason it has some how fallen back off. My wife drive this car to work and back which is about 5 minutes from my house and trust me she is no speed demon. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Armando

You did not mention any CEL. If so my hunch is that it is the IACV that needs cleaning up. The process is listed in DIYs .. just search.
The flex joint can develop a hole and a proper fix is to have it replaced at the dealership or muffler shop. I am not a big fan of just welding the hole shut, but Lexmex has had success with it. My reasoning is that you would loose flexibility and potentially stress another component.
