I've ordered Centric rotors and Akebono pads from Tirerack and I'm wondering if there is any maintainance I can do to my calipers before the parts arrive. I have an 02' with 157,000 miles. Just wondering what everyones experience has been. I've replaced the pads a few times and bled the system but this will be the first time replacing the rotors.

When you repace the pads, check the rubber around the pistons and the glider bolts. The gliders retract the caliper, they have on a rubber boot, you can pull these out. These should be greased up everytime you change you pads to ensure proper functionality of the caliper itself. I only used synthetic grease, only because you don't get to do your brakes so often.

For those who lived in areas where road salt is used, check bleeder screws to make sure they can still turn and not rusted out. You will need working bleeder screws to change brake fluid and get rid of the air after the job.
