Default DIY 1999 RX300 Exhaust without Lift?

If Lexus diagnoses bad Catalytic converter...whether upper set or lower...can I get under the car and remove/replce exhaust system using jackstands?

If anyone has replaced before can they answer? Also is it lexus fault for no one answering any questions on these issues?

Has Lexus locked up the repair market so no one know what to do?

Finding anything o Lexus on the internet is almost impossible

I know that the cat that is connected to the flex pipe can be replaced, but I wouldn't trust the jackstands. I used the 2-ton steel ramps. I used jackstands before when changing brakes and the car couldn't be supported. I just let the car go on the stands alone in their proper locations in the front of the car and the car started to lean forward and tip and the back end lifted of the ground. Be careful when repacing the exhaust. I was told I couldn't do it without a torch to heat the bolts up(between pipe and pre-cat). I started the car for 5 minutes and they came out without a problem.

I remember on a Typhoon I used to own that jack stands (on frame) were better than ramps becoause it allowed me to weave the connector pipe over the rear differential when the suspension dropped down. It hadn't dawned on me that this would be an issue. I don't know if that will be a factor on the RX, but I'll find out when I try this myself one of these days, also. Please let us know how it goes, and provide any tips.

I saw a replacement system at macautoparts.net for $279 minus 20% as a special, and this is the system I'm hoping to buy. I can't remember if they had a converter. Did you find a good place to buy everything?

The lowest exhaust modifications I did were done with a ramp at a place back in Mexico City,
