Need a new front and back bumper, Need help on Body parts
SO I have had two small low speed low impact crash's with my car in my own driveway..
just cracked the front and back bumpers
ha, its not even bad but since they are plastic they just crumpled and now I need now ones
and it will cost me this to replace both
$140 for a back bumper primed
$170 for a front bumper primed
50$ for shipping
$200 each for Painting
DIY install
$760 cost to me because of two small dents on the bumpers
anyone have any tips or advice or is that about a right price?
I have a haynes manual to install them.
I wanted to find out though
I see other RX300's with plastic ontop of the rear bumper
where do I get this? mine didnt come with one nor do the ones im ordering..
Mine looks like this
http://www.altezzalighting.co.uk/TOY...%28184R%29.jpg
I want the piece of plastic that goes ontop of the rear bumper
i know its just a looks thing
but this is what Im talking about
http://fmvss108.tripod.com/images/le...300_2001_1.jpg
that black plastic Lexus thing
I think it looks wayy better with one then without
..
Can i buy this to add on?..I cant even find a rear bumper for sale with that attached.
Also
can anyone tell me why
My Tail lights plastic lens is totally red while most rx's have Clear tail lights with some red in them?
Not the actual lights..just the plastic lens's..

See how this one has clear lens's with red in them? mine have No clear portion, all red.
Mines a 2000 rx 300 AWD
Im going to guess the original owner didnt bother to opt for the package, but then decided to go for almost every other option..odd to me

The bumper protective pad and clear tail lights came standard later.
Check with dealership parts dept for the part number. If you plan to install it, do not wax the rear bumper.

Basically, changes were made between the 1999-2000 and 2001-2003 RX300 models.
The protective black plastic piece on the top of the rear bumper became standard in 2001 (as I recall). There has been discussion about adding it here in the past but not for a while. It is available and fastened with spray-on adhesive, as I recall. There was also discussion of using the part from the Toyota Sienna, which is less expensive, but has the Toyota and not Lexus markings.
There are body shops that can repair cracks in bumpers, to some extent. You could either provide photos, or check with good body shops in your area.
Upgrading to the later rear lights was also a popular modification. As I recall, there was some minor modification to the wiring connectors needed.
