LOL! I always remember things that crack me up. Seeing you two sparing like girlfriends always cracks me up.

About the 40 PSI, I can think of a few things:

1) Very rough ride
2) Excessive and uneven tread wear in the middle of the tire
3) Increased risk of hydroplaning

I'm wrong on #3. Higher air pressure DECREASES hydroplane risk. So, go with 1 and 2.

Nope, maybe there is a point at which it reverses. But the danger is lower pressure:

i never found the ride to be rough, like i said though i pretty much always do highway miles

one thing i will say though that changes this some is i always put it at 40 psi hot, like right after i get off the highway and the air inside is still hot so once it cools it shrinks so cool i have no idea what the psi is but hot 40

ah thermal expansion....

we dont act like girlfriends...LOL

That's not all Lexus- He's gonna need an extra large tube of Preparation H- that'd beat the daylights out of your hammer-hoids. I can't even imagine what that ride would be like. I checked the pressure on my wife's '02 Camry recently and they were all down to about 26.5 lbs. I increased 'em to 30-30.5 and what a huge difference it made. They call for 29 both front and back. Did a lot of "tracking", following the grooves cut in the concrete for better traction when wet. I can't even fathom how you could handle the beating you would take if driven any distance. Just have the chiropractor move in with you I guess. I have increased the pressure as much as 5 lbs above manufacturer recommended several times on both the car and truck and it was just too rough for me. I'll buy a little extra gas and tires a little more often.

I run mine at 20 psi for most soft and plush ride, but really leans around the corners... j/k ha ha. I put mine at 32 psi, but the tires actually make a big difference too. The same psi, the Michelin X-terrains that I loved were much more rough, but tracked better. The current tires, Bridgestone something, are less grabby of the road, but much more quiet and plush. So, psi is not everything.

I normally add about 4lbs above recommeded rate, but it is true the inflation depends on the brand of the tires too.

I have been running nitrogen for a few years now since Costco started using it. I really can't notice the difference but it does have a lot of stated advantages.
I run 30 to 32 lbs with Michelin Cross Terrains. But I also have the SilverSport with the euro tuned suspension and don't want to stiffen it up any more than it already is.
