Where to get genuine lexus parts
Hey
I have an exhaust leak where the downpipe connects to before the catalytic converter. Where is the best place to get a replacement from?
Thanks
- Paul

You asked a couple of questions. (1) getting genuine Lexus parts, (2) "best" place to get replacements from (and what do you mean by best?).
Not counting price, your local Lexus dealer has advantages like immediate availability. The Lexus dealers who support this forum sell mail-order Lexus parts at a good discount. There are less expensive parts sources than these, but maybe not genuine parts.

Are you talking about the gasket before the catalytic converter (where the pipes meet with bolts?
The gasket for the one before the main cat is only like $11 or so at the dealer, it's part number 17451-20020.
You might want to try www.rockauto.com and I think it's referred to there as an Exhaust Pipe Flange Gasket. Prices range from $2 to $11 for that piece.

I bought ATF retainer from Park Place Lexus in Plano.

Lexmex is right that exhaust gasket quality and fitment are not that much of difference when you buy from aftermarket.

That gasket with the spring clamps in front of the cat is a common place for a leak. Part #1745-20020 that Lexmex mentions is now replaced with 17451-0A010 and lists for about $25. You can get it for about $20 at newlexusparts.com. I was in a hurry to get it so I picked it up at the local Lexus dealer. I was suprised he only charged me $19. If you want to go aftermarket rockauto has the gasket as a Walker #31555 for about $12.
