Rear Wheel Hub Assembly

For you FWD owners, did you ever have to replace a rear wheel hub assembly? If you did, how many miles did you get out of the original? Also, did it fail catastrophically and leave you stranded or did it start making noise and give you plenty of time to get it repaired? Thanks.
I think these hubs must be stout because there isn't one report of failure on this forum. One person did have a rear bearing go out at 152k on an AWD unit but no reported failures on the FWD rear hub.
PS. I'm asking this question for my nephew who drives a 98 Camry which has the exact same wheel hub assembly. If this is a misuse of the RX forum please let me know and I won't mind if the moderator deletes this post.
