Trust me you have enough room to do this, You will need a 14 mm nut head and she will come right out, I promise
Any shop would charge around 20-30 bucks to do this and I would go to an exhaust shop as they have the cheaper labor rates and will have the proper mig welder handy.

Looks like there is still a little but of corners there for a 10mm driver 3/8 socket to fit in. Insert the 10mm allen, tap it with a hammer a bit, then use a 3/8 ratchet to loosen it.

Goes back to my post #2 of this thread.
Since I lack the metal composition know how and welding interaction, taking a sawed off allen key and welding it in deformed hole, should take care of all problems. The plug will get heated and will facilitate the the unthreading.
Going to a muffler shop is a great idea ... they have the lift, welding equipment and are willing to help for a fee. They are also not competing for same business (diff maintenance).
Remind them, that penetrating oil is all over the place.

I see what you are saying... i was just wondering that maybe he can just hammer it in and try before going to the shop to get the piece welded. It wouldn't hurt to try as it looks like the last resort would be welding it on there anyway to be able to remove the bolt.
I almost have a similar problem but before taking the bolt off, I decided to order new ones. The drain plug bolt was almost rounded off and there is absolutely no way i'm putting the bolt back on.

New member here. Not to bump an old thread, but wanted to thank you for the chisel idea. After using a wire brush and plenty of PB Blaster, I cut an angle into the bolt with a Dremel, then got it out with a chisel. Good stuff.

BTW- the plug for most O2 sensor ports works great as a replacement diff drain/fill plug. Large hex head won't strip and they are available in stainless steel too. Here is the type I used on my Highlander when I had the same problem. (You'll of course need an appropriate seal washer too.) Haya....
2nd BTW- grinding a grove and ramp on the old plug is the way to go. Then get on it authority* with a long screwdriver or chisel and weighty hammer. Hehe....
