Since I am a long time used car salesman I find humor in that. I love to sell cars to someone else that people won't pull the trigger on even though they know it is a great deal or a rare car. You find something you like, that you can afford, you buy! If you "have to think about it" then you miss out. Car salesmen need to pay the bills too........LOL. No ill will intented but when I look @ a car I'm always prepared to buy the right car for the right money. I'm sure the salesman wanted you to buy it when you test drove it. A 120k Lexus w.perfect Lexus service record with one owner=hard to find.

Sounded good. But they never last so just keep looking and you'll find another one you like.

I understand your point frank, but some people need to sleep on it.It makes them feel their making the right decision.a few thousand dollars might not be much to some people,to others it may mean having to do with out other needed things.

one thing i forgot to mentioned was i saw the car at 7:30 at night on a Wednesday. and i had to stay at work on Thursday the whole day (our software release day). i was going to do the 2nd look on friday with some day light.

the other thing is, the car is not NEEDED. and it has 137k on it, and i was more looking into 01 model with "new" taillights and around 110k. although i think i still miss the chance, i don't really regret too much. it's just the fact it was gone the next day really caught me by surprise.

and imho, i'd never met a used car salesman i really like. i am pretty sure there are really good ones out there. but the chance of me finding one is very low

My client just offered her RX300 to me, one owner, 100K, pearl white, no accident, timing belt done, for 9500.. only thing wrong is the o2 sensor, but she said she will fix it before I buy.
Should I get it?
I have all other models of Lexus, but RX, hope I can get some advises here.

You don't give the condition or the service records; but generally getting a car from somebody you know is a great method, in my opinion. If they knew something was really wrong, they probably wouldn't sell to somebody they know. Other than a wide turning radius (which you learn to live with) I find the RX300 to be near perfection, and better than the newer RXs.

I would offer her a lower price, and fix it your self,(that way you know it`s fixed right) Denso part etc.

I saw the car yesterday, not bad, but there are minor scratches on the car, brakes need change, and she won't lower the price!
Nah, I guess I will keep looking.

Well in that particular situation,(if she wont lower the price) then I would do one of two things; 1) tell her I`m no longer interested or 2) have her fix all the ailments for that price.

Hello to all. I just joined here, and am a new owner of Two RX-300's. The prices mentioned above seem fair for year and mileage mentioned. I look forward to learning and participating here. Great forum you have here.

Thanks. I did not know where to introduce myself, so I just picked this thread since we are new RX owners recently.

bytor, having 2 identical cars are great for diy's imo. you are just dealing with maintaining one car essentially. are those fwd or awd?

The DIY's will be a plus. One thing that helped having two of them, I measured the driver's side wiper so I could replace my wipers. It was
24 in. So....... I assumed both were. After I got home with the new Rain-X blades, I found out the passenger side is a 22 in. So the wifes' RX got a new driver side wiper, and I went to Wally World and picked up a 22" for mine. Better than an exchange at that place.

Living in Michigan, both RX's are AWD. We both wanted AWD as I drive 90 miles per day in mine to and from work in some nasty snow during winter.
And my wife has owned 3 AWD/4WD SUV's over the years, and she loves the traction during the cold winter months.
