Default RX300 2003 Radio code

Hi All
Just a question. I getting ready to change my battery and I read some information on the internet about radio codes. Does anyone know whether RX300 year 2003 has a radio code.

I changed battery on my wife's 2003 RX300 couple times - not sure what codes you are talking about...

I'm pretty sure it has no security code. I've changed my battery and no problems. Maybe the reason for no security code is that the radio is integrated into all the other functions, so there is really no radio to steal.

99.999% of users never set the code and therefore you dont need it when you disconnect the battery.

How do you set the code?

I too am in 99.999%.

The manual has instructions to activate the theft deterrent.

Which manual and where? I can't find it. Are you sure what you are reading pertains to the RX300?

I will try to look it up. I had always thought it would be in the "owners manual".

The head unit is so Lexus specific that there is no sense in securing it.[imho]

yea, even if you wanted to change it out for an aftermarket stereo its HUGE ordeal just to get the aftermarket one to even work with all the other stuff in the car, let alone the other way around, i too have never seen or heard of a code

I am pretty sure the radio code does not exist for the RX300 unless you find something to the contrary.

If you look at the 'cassette tape dust flap' you will see 'theft deterrent' marked on it.

It actually says "theft deterrent design" but I never thought that had anything to do with a code.
